Only thirteen days left. I pray these tips have been a blessing. In this next section, my primary focus will be on training.
43. Don’t start to fast – When beginning a new workout regiment everyone is so gung-ho and tends to do more than they should. Start slow and work up the volume and intensity. This will limit injuries and lower your rate of burnout.
44. No Pain, No Gain is a joke – we live in a society that thinks that if you’re not dead at the end of a workout then it was useless. How many of you, have been so sore or heard of someone so sore the next day, after a workout, they could hardly move? When that happens, especially for new people, they get discouraged and usually quit because they play mind games thinking they can’t keep up this pace.
45. Fitness gains happen at rest – Most people do not understand this concept. See tip 6. Working out stresses the body, rest allows the body to absorb, repair, adapt, and get stronger.
